Micro Beef Technologies Conducts Bioterrorism Workshop for 60%
of Feedyard Industry

Las Vegas, Nevada -- Over 60% of the US fed beef cattle herd was represented by the feedyard managers and owners in attendance at Micro Beef Technologies workshop “Providing Food in an Uncertain World: Exploring New Paradigms in Protecting U.S. Cattle Herd Health in the Age of Bioterrorism.” William C. Pratt, Founder of MBT, and Mark Shaw, MBT Chief Executive Officer, led the workshop with world-renowned agricultural futurist Dr. Lowell Catlett of New Mexico State University. The interactive workshop explored the subjects of bioterrorist threats, foreign animal diseases, BSE (“mad cow disease”), food safety, and the National Animal Identification System in the context of new approaches with both existing and emerging technologies that also yield profit opportunities for beef producers. This was Micro Beef’s 20th Annual Beef Business Seminar and Workshop.
