DRUG-TRAC® Health
Management and Induction System
The DRUG-TRAC® System is a complete individual
animal induction, health assurance, and traceback system for
large commercial feedlots. DRUG-TRAC® collects, reports,
manages, and verifies individual animal identification, production
processes, and intervention information. DRUG-TRAC® is
the standard individual animal induction component of the
overall ACCU-TRAC® System for large commercial feedyards
whether for National Animal Identification System (NAIS) compliance
or beef production management. DRUG-TRAC® accommodates
multiple radio frequency identification (RFID) and visual
identification devices.
The DRUG-TRAC® System affords beef producers
a real-time, interactive chute-side information and management
system. As a comprehensive health management solution, DRUG-TRAC®
optimizes health performance on an individual animal basis,
automates quality assurance, and user-friendly interactive
chute-side terminals provide extensive information with frictionless
data transfer. Pioneered by Micro Beef Technologies, DRUG-TRAC®
was the beef industry’s first individual animal food
safety assurance tracking system.
Enhanced Quality Assurance
An interactive chute-side workstation displays extensive individual
animal data aiding in more informed and accurate treatment
decisions. Weight dependent dosages are automatically calculated
and displayed for the user. Treatment guidelines implement
customized veterinary-specified regimens including treatment
product by diagnosis, product dosage, withdrawal period, and
administration notes. Beef Quality Assurance is automatically
verified. For drug residue prevention strategies, audible
“safe to ship” alarms instantly notify the user
of potential residues and offer an alternative “safe”
treatment. Processing orders, re-implant, and re-vaccination
schedules are easily managed with reports.
Inventory Management
Medicine is automatically deducted from inventory as animals
are treated. Medication used is automatically compared to
medication charged, quickly confirming that programs are properly
administered. Daily drug inventory provides for accurate product
counts and quick reconciliation. Physical inventory counts
are easy by counting bottles rather than total milliliters.
Improved Operating Efficiency
A relational database platform and real-time applications
enable multi-user, multi-tasking user configurations. Single
point data entry eliminates handling data multiple times creating
a paperless hospital treatment program. Simple numeric commands
execute the user-friendly menu options. Real-time communications
with the office host computer means that chute-side users
access up-to-date data. Treatment information is immediately
transferred to the host eliminating manual data transfer.
Electronic scales can be interfaced for accurate weight measurement.
DRUG-TRAC® can be interfaced with feedyard accounting
systems.
Extensive Individual Animal Reporting
and Analysis
Extensive management reports providing comprehensive information
on individual and group lot basis include: “safe-to-ship”
reports certifying BQA; complete processing and hospital activity
reports by lot or pen; summary reports with statistical data
on pulls/re-pulls, deads, morbidity, and new-pull drug response;
extensive yard sheet formats; billing reports; pen rider analysis
and order buyer analysis; individual/comparative treatment
response; cattle inventory, pen moves, pen inventory; treatment
guideline; drug evaluation; biological product analysis by
lot; re-implant and re-vaccination scheduling; and deads analysis
among many others.
ACCU-TRAC®
DRUG-TRAC® is an essential component of the ACCU-TRAC®
ECM System. By combining food safety protocols with beef traceability
practices and production efficiencies, everyone wins. Consumers
receive a wholesome product and producers increase their profitability.
