Countless ranchers of
all types and geographies are benefiting from ACCU-TRAC®.
Some are focus on the system’s feedback of individual
animal live and carcass performance data they receive
on their cattle after slaughter for genetic and other
management decisions on the ranch. Others are utilizing
the system primarily for the immediate increased economic
returns they realize in a retained ownership program
when their cattle are marketed by the system. Still
others are utilizing the proprietary sorting and marketing
features licensed to Mid West Micro Systems’ joint
system with Micro Beef Technologies -- the CowCOMM™
Herd Improvement Program. |

To date, ECM® feedyards have
managed hundreds of thousands of cattle indivdually.
These feedyards have used ECM® to both attract new
customers to fill their yard and to increase loyalty
with their current customer base. They have also made
more money per head for the owners of the cattle marketed
through the ECM® system as compared to traditional
management and marketing methods. |

All of the beef industry’s
largest packing companies and smaller packers have enjoyed
the benefits of ECM® managed cattle such as increased
carcass uniformity and higher quality populations. All
packers involved have been cooperative in recovering
the electronic identification ear tags used in ECM®
cattle and returning them to MBT for recycling. They
have also been willing to let MBT staff work in their
plants continually improving the automated live- to-carcass
identification transfer process as well as conduct research
and development projects with carcass valuation technology
such as “hide-on” ultrasound. |
 |
ECM® systems have supplied major
national grocery retailers specification beef products
in both pilot projects and on-going programs. Specifications
include narrow quality grade, yield grade, hot carcass
weight, health, and nutrition targets. |
